Blogtober Day 15 – Spooky TV Shows To Watch This Autumn

Hey guys, what’s up, welcome back to another Blogtober post! Today I’m bringing you a list of spooky/horror television shows that would be perfect to watch this October. I have not seen all of these shows, so consider this a recommendations/wish list for shows that I either love or would love to watch.

I have included where you can watch all of these shows, but this is for the UK only as that is the information I know. If you live elsewhere these shows may be available through different services or may not be available through the services I have included.


1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The Plot: A young woman, destined to slay vampires, demons and other infernal creatures, deals with her life fighting evil, with the help of her friends.


2. Supernatural

Where to Watch: Youtube, GooglePlay

The Plot: Two brothers follow their father’s footsteps as “hunters”, fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.


3. Wnyonna Earp

Where to Watch: Youtube, GooglePlay, Netflix

The Plot: Based on the IDW Comic, Wynonna Earp follows Wyatt Earp’s great great-granddaughter as she battles demons and other creatures. With her unique abilities and a posse of dysfunctional allies, she’s the only thing that can bring the paranormal to justice.


4. True Blood

Where to Watch: Youtube, GooglePlay

The Plot: Telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse encounters a strange new supernatural world when she meets the mysterious Bill, a southern Louisiana gentleman and vampire.


5. Stranger Things

Where to Watch: Netflix

The Plot: When a young boy disappears, his mother, a police chief, and his friends must confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.


6. Santa Clarita Diet

Where to Watch: Netflix

The Plot: Sheila and Joel are married real estate agents in Santa Clarita, California. When Sheila dies, their lives take a dark turn.


7. Les Revenants

Where to Watch: Youtube, GooglePlay

The Plot: The Returned opens in a small mountain community which is rocked to its core when several local people who are presumed dead suddenly re-appear at their homes. Despite having passed away some years earlier, these ghostly characters appear in human form, they have not aged, and they are completely unaware of their own fatality. Determined to reclaim their lives and start over, they slowly come to realize that they are not the only ones to have been brought back from the dead. Their return augers torment for their community when a gruesome murder attempt bears a chilling resemblance to the work of a serial killer from the past. This is a homecoming like no other.


8. The Walking Dead

The Plot: Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes wakes up from a coma to learn the world is in ruins, and must lead a group of survivors to stay alive.


9. Twin Peaks

Where to Watch: Youtube, GooglePlay

The Plot: An idiosyncratic FBI agent investigates the murder of a young woman in the even more idiosyncratic town of Twin Peaks.


10. Bates Motel

Where to Watch: Youtube, GooglePlay, Netflix

The Plot: A contemporary prequel to Psycho, giving a portrayal of how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years, and how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is.

  1. I was just thinking about how I needed to watch more spooky TV shows this Autumn, so I read your post at the right time! I really need to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer at long last. *hides in a corner* I’m also really curious about Wynonna Earp, I’ve heard such great things. Out of your list, I’ve watched Stranger Things and adore it! Penny Dreadful is also perfect for Halloween, it has such a scary atmosphere!
